Key Learning: Performance-driven L&D goals

Filip puts it so eloquently when he says that “L&D is there to help the company execute much faster.” Although it’s nice to focus on things like growth mindsets, with performance as the driver, you’re actually helping people by getting them to perform better in line with the company strategy.

To begin with, you need to find out the strategic priorities of the company and work out where L&D can support that growth. This could be something to do with culture, onboarding, or whatever other gaps need filling – if it helps the company move faster then that’s where you’ll start.

As Filip touches on, this performance-driven approach can actually make it easier to communicate with the rest of the business and is a great starting point for collaboration.
